Richard’s Adaptive Dance Program
We believe dance is a great way for all to become aware of their abilities, enjoy movement, appreciate diversity and have fun while also increasing their physical strength, endurance, range of motion, motor skills, self-esteem and self-confidence.
Rhythm Works Classes
Richard’s is so excited to offer the Rhythm Works Integrated Dance Program. This ground-breaking rhythm & dance program is designed for individuals with learning differences, special needs, and challenges with sensory processing.
About The Rhythm Works Integrative Dance Program
The Rhythm Works Integrative Dance program was developed by physical, behavioral, and occupational therapists using evidence-based practices from sensory integration, behavioral analysis, and movement safety/kinesiology to provide opportunities for students to practice developmental skills across 5 developmental domains. To our students, the classes are fun, social, and engaging. Behind the scenes, our instructor works hard to ensure class content is purposeful and functional.
Our uniquely trained and certified instructor works together with the students’ therapists to incorporate content and concept development that supports existing therapy/IEP goals. The curriculum is completely customizable to fit the needs of each student and is appropriate for kids age 3 - adults, boys and girls. While the classes are focused on building foundational skills for our uniquely-abled students, the class is open to people of all abilities to promote inclusion and neuro-diversity.
